A prewar duplex recaptures its original grandeur and style with period details and updated features.

This Upper West Side duplex renovation was a meticulous restoration and reimagining of a classic New York City pre-war home. Spread across two levels, the project restored original moldings, archways, and proportions while introducing modern kitchens, baths, and systems that meet contemporary Manhattan living standards.

Period-appropriate millwork, restored hardwood floors, and carefully sourced furnishings honor the building’s early 20th-century character. Updated lighting, an open kitchen, and reconfigured bedrooms give the home the ease and flow demanded by modern family life — without sacrificing a drop of old New York charm.
